Putnam County Conviction...
On May 19, 2021, a Putnam County Trial Jury convicted Zavius Akeem Hargrove of False Imprisonment and Simple Battery. This conviction stems from the actions that he took on February 26, 2020, when he held his aunt at knife point while locked in the bathroom, and subsequently fought with multiple officers. These same actions formed the basis for a violation on the probation sentence he was already serving. This conviction and subsequent probation revocation led Hargrove to be sentenced to a total of 25 years to be served in confinement.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Savanna Roughen. A special thanks goes out to Sheriff Howard Sills and his staff at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office that assisted in this case.
