Working hard and staying busy....
This has been one heck of a week for the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office. On Monday, the Georgia Supreme Court upheld the convictions of Demarco Draughn, Xavier Levatte, and Benny Hayward for the brutal murder of a Hancock State Prison inmate by the name of Bobby Jermaine Ricks.
On Wednesday, the Greene County office presented 31 cases to a Greene County Grand Jury. All cases were true billed, and are now moving forward to an arraignment calendar.
Meanwhile, in Baldwin County, our team obtained a conviction on Joseph Ford for the crimes of burglary in the first and second degree. Senior Superior Court Judge William A. Prior, Jr. sentenced Mr. Ford to twenty years with the first fifteen years to be served in prison.
A big thank you goes out to our law enforcement officers, courthouse personnel, and our staff for making this week a success! Have a great weekend, and know that the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office is working hard to keep our communities safe!
Your District Attorney,
T. Wright Barksdale III
