Putnam County Trial Week ends with a bang
There were 2 criminal cases tried this week in the Putnam County Superior Court, and both cases ended in convictions.
On May 23, 2018, Cervantes Letavious Ellison was convicted of the offenses of Rape, Aggravated Sodomy, and Exploitation & Intimidation of Disabled Adult, Elder Person, or Resident after a 3 day trial. Ellison was sentenced to Life Imprisonment by Honorable Brenda H. Trammell. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorneys T. Wright Barksdale and Jeff Burks. Our office would like to acknowledge all the hard work of Investigator Chris Harper of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office and Investigator Clay Wiggins of the Jones County Sheriff's Office on this case.
On May 24, 2018, Pamela Rena White was convicted of 2 counts of Possession of Cocaine and 1 count of Sale of Cocaine after a 1 day trial. White was sentenced to twenty (20) years with the first ten (10) years to be served in confinement under the recidivist statue O. C. G. A. § 16-13-30(d) by Honorable Trammell. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale. Our office would like to acknowledge all the hard work of Investigator Howell Cardwell with the Ocmulgee Drug Task Force on this case.
