Morgan County Man Pleads Guilty to Rape, Child Molestation, and Sexual Exploitation Charges.

On May 13, 2026, a 22 year-old Morgan County man, Rashawn Richard Sorrell-Tomblin, pleaded guilty to one count of Rape, two counts of Child Molestation, and eight counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Child and was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole by Superior Court Judge Terry Massey. Sorrell-Tomblin was convicted for committing offenses against a child who was less than one-year old at the time of the offenses. Given the nature of the offenses, it will be at least thirty (30) years before Sorrell-Tomblin will be eligible for parole.
This case was investigated by Special Agent Ethan Brown of the GBI, who was assisted by officers of the Morgan County Sherriff’s Office, and this case was prosecuted by ADA Stephen Morris, Victim Advocate Makenzie Whitley, and Legal Assistant Kelly Calandra.
