Hancock County conviction on Javaris Compton

Javaris Compton was convicted of malice murder by a Hancock County jury after just over an hour of deliberation. The conviction stemmed from the 2021 killing of his Hancock State Prison cellmate, Rashad Bolton. Compton was sentenced to life in prison without parole by Judge Amanda S. Petty. The case was prosecuted by ADA Blayne May with assistance from ADA Nevin Cox.
