Michael Seth Perrault convicted of Malice Murder, Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Family Violence

A Putnam County jury has convicted former Eatonton Police Officer Michael Seth Perrault of killing his wife. Perrault was arrested on January 28, 2020 for Simple Battery against his wife. He was arrested again the following week for killing his wife and attempting to stage the scene as a suicide on February 3, 2020. Although the death was ruled a suicide by the medical examiner, the evidence gained through the tireless work of Sheriff Howard Sills and the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office as well as testimony from the victim’s neighbors, friends, and family proved that this was a case of premeditated murder. District Attorney T. Wright Barksdale III and ADA Faith D. Worley prosecuted the case. Perrault was sentenced to Life without the Possibility of Parole on February 25, 2022 by Hon. Brenda H. Trammell.
